From Monday 9 May, a fresh new sound can be heard on the airwaves when Sue Dougan takes over the reigns of BBC Radio Cambridgeshire's Afternoon Show, between 1.00 and 4.00pm - bringing to life her own unique view on the world around her.

Sue previously presented the Evening Show for BBC Local Radio in the South East, broadcast on various BBC stations across the region, and has recently relocated to the Cambridgeshire area.

She takes over from Ray Clark, who has moved on to present the Drive Time Show on BBC Essex. Ray can still be heard on Radio Cambridgeshire on Sundays between 9.00am and noon.

The new Afternoon Show consists of a superb mix of music and chat and takes a look at Cambridgeshire life, with an emphasis on the quirkier side of the county's characters that you rarely get to see.

Sue joins the station with an abundance of experience in radio behind her, previously working for BBC Radio Northampton and The Capital Radio Group among many others.

Sue says: "I can't wait to get cracking on the new show, I'm looking forward to it immensely. It's great to be a part of such a great team and also to be a part of such a thriving, exciting county as Cambridgeshire."

Graham Hughes, Programme Organiser, Radio Cambridgeshire, says: "It's fantastic to have Sue on board with us at Radio Cambridgeshire, with her wealth of experience on BBC Local Radio and in the commercial sector; our listeners are in for a real treat!"

Notes to Editors

Sue Dougan can be heard on Radio Cambridgeshire's Afternoon Show, between 1.00 and 4.00pm, weekdays from Monday 9 May 2005 on 96 & 95.7FM.
