Christopher Woolard appointed Head of Compliance & Value for Money, BBC Governance Unit

Christopher Woolard has been appointed as Head of Compliance & Value for Money (VFM) in the Governance Unit, reporting to Director of Governance, Nicholas Kroll.


In this new post Christopher will assist the Governors in their role as trustees of the public interest, through an enhanced programme to develop policy and practice on governance, regulatory and compliance issues;


to monitor budgetary and VFM issues on the Board's behalf;


and to help develop the public value test and advise on other economic issues.


Christopher will join the BBC after a career in Whitehall, including leading the bill team responsible for the Communications Act 2003 and shareholder supervision of the Royal Mail.


He will join the Unit full-time from the end of July, but will begin working with us from the end of May whilst he completes a masters degree at London Business School.
