BBC ONE will televise the Tsunami charity rugby match from Twickenham live in Grandstand on Saturday 5 March.
The game will have a 2.30pm kick off, and BBC ONE build-up will begin at 2.00pm.
The game, to be played between the northern and southern hemisphere, will also be on BBC Radio Five Live Sports Extra and bbc.co.uk/sport.
BBC Director of Sport Peter Salmon said: "BBC is delighted to be the broadcaster for this historic and important match.
"We intend to use all our platforms - TV, radio and the website - to showcase how the world of rugby can pull together to help the victims of this dreadful disaster."
IRB Chief Executive Mike Miller said: "We are delighted the BBC is going to provide the host broadcast of the IRB Rugby Aid match live from Twickenham on 5 March.
"The aim of this historic match is to raise around three million pounds for the United Nations World Food Programme and its work in the aftermath of the Indian Ocean Tsunami."
Miller added: "The IRB would like to thank the BBC and the Rugby Football Union for generously agreeing to schedule the kick-off and broadcast of both of the Powergen Cup semi-finals on Sunday 6 March.
"This means maximum exposure of the North versus South match on Saturday 5 March."
