Mordechai Vanunu speaks to BBC World Service's Outlook programme

Category: World Service

Date: 24.09.2004

Mordechai Vanunu was interviewed today on BBC World Service's Outlook programme.

Vanunu, who served 18 years in prison after blowing the whistle on Israel's nuclear secrets, tells Outlook's Fred Dove that the hostility he has experienced in Jerusalem makes him keep to the east side of the city and that he cannot stay in Israel.

He says he is glad his revelations alerted the world to the fact that even a small state could have nuclear weapons.

He speaks of being regarded as a double traitor; on the nuclear issue and for abandoning the Jewish faith in favour of Christianity.
