Planet Cook
Captain Cook and Bouma on Planet Cook

Planet Cook

Introduction

Planet Cook is a place where dinnertime disappointments and mealtime moans are things of the past.

It's a marvellous world where meals are masterpieces and kids get creative with cookery.

With a cupful of energy, a pinch of wonder and a generous sprinkling of imagination comes a unique creative cookery adventure show for kids.

Planet Cook is hosted by Captain Cook – also known as Kevin Woodford (Ready Steady Cook) – the hero from Planet Cook.

His mission is to defeat boring food and bring fun food to kids everywhere.

Captain Cook's culinary side kick – a yeti called Bouma – and the Cook Cadets will banish boring food and in each show send a Taste Transmission to the world.

With recipes inspired from the natural world, from Australian spiders to erupting volcanoes, Captain Cook and the Cook Cadets must complete the recipe before the timer runs out.

But whatever the dish they create it will be as much fun to make as it is to eat!

Each Taste Transmission is a recipe that transforms simple and wholesome ingredients into a mouth-watering dish which is stored inside a super computer called Roxy.

Roxy is also a window to the wider world. She shows Bouma and the Cook Cadets Info-Bytes – mini films that teach them about Earth's fascinating natural history such as erupting volcanoes, fruit bats and dinosaurs.

The Info-Bytes inspire culinary genius Captain Cook to come up with a recipe for the Taste Transmission. Then, together with the Cook Cadets, he must prepare the taste creation before the timer runs out.

Will Captain Cook come up with a concoction?

Will the Cook Cadets complete the Taste Transmission in time against the clock?

And will Bouma get in the way?

There’s only one way to find out…

Planet Cook starts on The CBBC Channel in October 2004.
