The specially constructed stage on the River Lagan -
Music Live at Laganside will be a silver dome shaped construction
built on 14 semi submersible pontoons linked to create a stage area
50 ft square.
Funded by Laganside Corporation it provides a unique
and magnificent setting as part of the BBC Music Live festival.
With a total weight of approximately 50 tonnes, the
stage will support a full lighting rig and state-of-the-art sound system
and will be powered by generators located on dry land.
The weir gates will be closed to maintain a constant
level of river so the stage once constructed will, for the artists,
be like a regular stage on dry land.
It will be a unique and magnificent setting for 2,000
people to watch each performance.
