FIVE LIVE

Radio Five Live asks if winning the Rugby World Cup is the most important sporting moment ever?

BBC Radio Five Live has asked listeners and web visitors to state whether England's Rugby World Cup win stands alongside the most important sporting moments of all time.

For the last month listeners in their tens of thousands have ranked their top ten sporting moments from a hundred chosen by a panel of sporting experts for Five Live's Sporting Century.

Now listeners have been asked to state whether the England side's last minute World Cup victory ranks alongside momentous events such as Jesse Owen's Olympic wins in Berlin in 1936, or Roger Bannister's record breaking four minute mile.

To vote, visit www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/sportingcentury where the top ten moments of more than 20,000 listeners are listed and decide whether Jonny Wilkinson's last minute drop goal triumph should be ranked alongside other historic and important moments in sport.

The final hundred events will be revealed in the special programme on Christmas Day at 10.00am on Radio Five Live, 909 & 693 AM.
