Robbie Williams at Abbey Road

Robbie Williams is to perform one of his most intimate gigs just months after playing one of the biggest music events of the year.

London's legendary Abbey Road studios are to play host to the exclusive BBC Radio 2 concert which will be broadcast on Saturday 20 December at 9.00pm.

Robbie broke all records at Knebworth in August of this year playing to 375,000 fans over three days.

His Radio 2 gig will be in front of an audience of just 300 and the only live concert appearance he will be making before the New Year.

Radio 2's Steve Wright show today (Friday 31 October) launched a competition to win tickets to the event.

Lesley Douglas, Head of Programmes, Radio 2, says: "I'm delighted to have one of the great entertainers performing in one of the world's most famous music venues.

"This unique, intimate event should be one of the hottest tickets this year and if you are not lucky enough to be in Abbey Road we will give you the best seat in the house by broadcasting the concert on Radio 2.

"I can't think of a better way to kick start our Christmas celebrations."
