Bruce
Forsyth to host brand new BBC ONE quiz show
Bruce
Forsyth will host a new quiz show for BBC ONE which will record
next month and will transmit in the New Year.
Getting
its name from one of Bruce's legendary catchphrases, Didn't they
do well? is the new weekly TV quiz where the contestants don't
need to know anything about TV.
It's
a test of general knowledge that uses the television archives in
a unique new way sifting through a wealth of classic TV moments
to provide the inspiration for an innovative play along quiz.
"I'm
very excited to be doing this show, and I'm looking forward to working
for the BBC again," says Bruce.
In
each 30 minute edition of Didn't they do well?, three teams of two
players battle their way through four rounds of questions that tease
them on their breadth of general knowledge, before reaching the
show's finale, a tense race against the clock to build up a substantial
prize fund anything up to £36,000.
In
order to reach the prize money, the contestants must prove themselves
experts in a variety of different fields from Politics and
Current Affairs, to the Arts and Sciences.
Teamwork,
making astute choices and tactical judgements will reap benefits
too.
All
of the questions in Didnt they do well? are supplied or driven
by memorable moments from the television archives but the
key is that the contestants are not being tested on the programmes
themselves, rather the subjects and the content of the clips.
Didn't
they do well? is an original and entertaining way for the players
(and the viewers) to put their knowledge to the test whilst revisiting
some of the best-loved television moments of the last few decades.
