BBC bosses set for Rhyl grilling

Do you think BBC Wales does enough in North Wales?

BBC Wales bosses will have to answer that question when they face a grilling from people in the North Wales coast area at a special public meeting in Rhyl.

The Broadcasting Council for Wales and BBC Wales are to hold the meeting on Thursday 9 October at Rhyl Town Hall at 7.30pm.

The event will be hosted by TV news presenter Jason Mohammad who is used to giving members of the public the chance to put forward their views as he also presents Radio Wales's popular Saturday evening phone-in Extra Time.

Jason will give people the chance to put their questions to people like BBC Wales Controller Menna Richards, BBC Governor Merfyn Jones and BBC Wales Head of Sport Nigel Walker.

"We don't want things to get too formal," said Jason, "so the event will be followed by a buffet and drinks to give everyone the chance to mingle and chat with people from the BBC."

For free tickets, phone 08700 100775 or send a text message to 07786 207787.

Rhyl is set to be the focal point of over two months of events from BBC Wales this autumn.

A special Radio Wales outside broadcast will come live from the town, there will be auditions for the hit BBC Wales talent show Just Up Your Street, an event helping people to trace their family trees – Look Up Your Genes – and a digital storytelling workshop, enabling members of the public to make their own television programmes.
