Chance to learn art of video-jockeying
The
BBC is offering teenagers the chance to hone their skills at video-jockeying
(VJ-ing) in a series of free workshops at The Forum in Norfolk.
VJ-ing
is a step on from the art of DJ-ing - whilst a DJ mixes records,
a VJ mixes videos.
Through
a combination of PCs, live camera feeds, videos and slide projectors,
VJs mix live videos to project stunning effects onto walls and screens.
Young
people aged between 12 and 16 are invited to come to The Forum on
Monday (4 August 2003) for a free taster session in the art of VJ-ing,
hosted by the BBC and local organisation 2 Bit TV.
There
is no need to book, just turn up and stay as long or as little as
you like between 10.30am and 4.00pm.
The
BBC is also running three-day workshops with 2 Bit TV on:
Monday
11 to Wednesday 13 August;
Thursday
14, Friday 15 and Monday 18 August;
a third
event will follow at the end of August.
Places
for these three day courses are stictly limited, and candidates
need to apply in writing to attend.
