BBC Radio Devon celebrates RAJAR success

279,000 listeners tune into BBC Radio Devon each week according to the latest figures released today.

This maintains the station's lead as the most popular local radio service in the county, with 37,000 new listeners tuning in over the past 12 months.

BBC Radio Devon Acting Editor Sarah Solftley says: "I'm delighted that we are able to celebrate breaking audience figures in our 21st year of serving the county.

"We pride ourselves on being the voice of the local community, giving the people of Devon a chance to celebrate life in the county."

Andy Griffee, BBC Controller, English Regions, says: "I'd like to thank BBC Radio Devon for its important contribution to this quarter's figures. Today shows that the BBC continues to connect with local audiences."

Notes to Editors
