HARDtalk: Dr David Kimche and Dr Riad Malki

On BBC News 24's HARDtalk tonight (Thursday 22 May 2003), Tim Sebastian talks to Dr David Kimche, former Deputy Director, Mossad and Dr Riad Malki, former spokesman for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).

At a time of political stalemate and continued violence, why have two former enemies decided to join forces and fight for peace with words?

David Kimche is a former senior official in the Israeli intelligence services, and Riad Malki is a former spokesman for the militant Palestinian group, the PFLP.

Considering that 20 years ago the two were bitter enemies, how can they make peace now when their leaders can't, and do they see any chance for the Middle East Road Map?

HARDtalk is on BBC News 24 at 11.30pm.

All the BBC's digital services are now available on Freeview, the new free-to-view digital terrestrial television service, as well as on satellite and cable.
