BBC programmes take eight BAFTA Craft Awards

BBC programmes, including the dramas Gathering Storm and Daniel Deronda, took more than half of the British Academy Television Craft Awards.

Other winners included the sound team for BBC ONE's coverage of The Queen's Golden Jubilee.

The award ceremony was held last night (Sunday 11 May 2003) in London's Park Lane.

It was hosted by Alistair McGowan, whose new BBC ONE series The Big Impression began on Friday night.

Editing Fiction/Entertainment - Daniel Deronda, Philip Kloss (BBC ONE);

Make-up and Hair design - The Gathering Storm, Daniel Parker, Frances Hannon, Stephen Rose (BBC TWO);

Photography Factual - Sahara With Michael Palin, Nigel Meakin (BBC ONE);

Production Design - The Gathering Storm, Luciana Arrighi (BBC TWO);

Sound Factual - The Queen's Golden Jubilee, sound team (BBC ONE);

Sound Fiction/Entertainment - Daniel Deronda, sound team (BBC ONE);

Visual Effects - The Giant Claw (A Walking With Dinosaurs Special), Max Tyrie, Tim Greenwood, Jez Gibson Harris (BBC ONE).
