Special broadcast for Shipston-on-Stour's big day!

BBC WM in Coventry and Warwickshire is broadcasting a special programme on Saturday (5 April 2003) as Shipston-on Stour Rugby Club enter the final of the Powergen Junior Vase tournament at Twickenham, the headquarters of Rugby Union.

Keith Beech, Managing Editor, BBC WM - and former player with Shipston's Warwickshire rivals Alcester - will be commentating on the match.

He will be joined by John Butler, a seasoned rugby commentator of 30 years, and former England international Richard Moon.

Keith Beech says: "It's any rugby player's dream to play at Twickenham. Shipston are a small club but they expect to take around 1,000 supporters with them. It's the biggest day in their history - and we wish them well."

The BBC local radio station is broadcasting full match commentary from 10.00am to noon on Saturday.

Shipston face Old Alleynian of Surrey in the Powergen Junior Vase final which kicks off at 10.15am.

BBC WM broadcasts across Coventry & Warwickshire on 94.8, 104 & 103.7FM.
