BBC
Sport announces new 10 fight deal with David Haye

David Haye, one of the boxing world's most promising new talents,
has signed a new deal with BBC Sport to televise the first ten fights
of his professional career.
21-year-old Haye - who has been described as "possibly the
most sought after talent in British boxing - will be managed by
Eugene Maloney and will start his career in the Cruiserweight division.
Haye
won a silver medal in the heavyweight class at last year's World
Amateur Championships in Belfast but was forced to withdraw from
the Commonwealth Games due to injury.
He
will be fighting on the undercards of the main BBC promoters during
his first six fights.
David
Haye said: "I have given a lot of consideration to the decision
to turn professional and I know now is the right time for me.
"I
have gained a huge amount of experience as an amateur but it is
nearly 18 months since the World Championships and I am ready for
the next stage of my career.
"I
am looking forward to fighting on the BBC and, most importantly,
to letting my boxing do the talking."
Mike
Lewis, BBC Sport's Head of Boxing Strategy said: "We're delighted
David and his team have chosen the BBC to launch his professional
career.
"David
is one of British boxing's brightest prospects and the BBC will
be able to give him the profile he deserves as he takes the first
steps as a pro."
A date
for David Haye's first fight on the BBC is yet to be confirmed but
it is expected to take place before the end of this year.
