2 Young Choristers of the Year 2002

Former
choirboy and current Songs of Praise presenter Aled Jones hosts
the grand final of this year's search to find BBC Radio 2's Young
Choristers of the Year.
Chosen
from the best young choristers within the UK, only eight hopefuls
remain.
The
four finalists for Choir Boy of the Year are Thomas Morley from
Loughborough, Kieran White from Wells, James Eager from Llandaff
and Tristan Russell from Louth.
The
female finalists are Gwendolen Elias from Bexhill-on-Sea, Sarah
Kelly from Lanchester in County Durham, Lucy Rhodes from Harrogate
and Alison Sawers from Malvern.
Amongst
the judges for this year's competition, which comes from All Souls
Church in London, are HRH The Duchess of Kent, James O'Donnell,
Organist and Master of the Choristers at Westminster Abbey and Soprano
Catherine Bott.
The
winners each receive a trophy, a cash prize of £500 and a
£1,000 award for their choirs.
Previous
winners have gone on to appear on a variety of BBC radio and television
programmes including Songs of Praise and Good Morning Sunday.
