

Eurovision Song Contest 2002
The
biggest international singing event of the year, the Eurovision Song
Contest 2002, returns to BBC ONE on Saturday 25 May at 8.00pm with
Terry Wogan providing the best commentary around from Tallinn, Estonia.
Over
100,000 votes were cast in this year's Song For Europe to choose
the UK entry for the competition top ten Pop Idol finalist
Jessica Garlick singing Come Back written by Birmingham airline
pilot Martyn Baylay.

This
year's Contest promises to be as colourful as ever, with entrants
including a group of transvestites from Slovenia and Russia's answer
to Take That!
To
celebrate, the BBC has a host of programmes in the run-up to the
Contest, including Not Another Eurovision, in which Angus Deayton
takes a wry look back at some of the best moments in the illustrious
history of the world's most notorious music competition on BBC ONE.
BBC
TWO also goes Eurovision crazy with a Never Mind The Buzzcocks Eurovision
Special featuring Terry Wogan, Johnny Logan, Cheryl Baker and Sonia
and BBC CHOICE celebrates
with the return of the Eurovision Preview Shows, which have not
been shown by the BBC since 1994. Liquid Eurovision is shown nightly
in the week before the contest and features all the latest news
from Estonia and previews all the songs. On the night, there will
be a five-hour Eurovision party with special studio guests and in-depth
analysis of the competition.
With
coverage also on BBC Radio 2, the nation is sure to be gripped by
Eurovision fever and united in its support for Jessica, whose single,
Come Back, is released on Monday 13 May.
