Doctors
Celebrates Second Year With All-Year-Round Commission

Doctors
- the first originally produced drama for the BBC Daytime audience
- has been commissioned throughout the year.
A cornerstone
of the BBC ONE Daytime schedule, with an average audience of 2.2
million in its afternoon slot, the series has been one of the key
shows that has made BBC Daytimes the viewers first choice.
"Doctors
is the only original daytime drama that is celebrating unparalleled
success with viewers at the moment," comments Fenia Vardanis,
Controller (Acting), Daytime. "Making Doctors a permanent fixture
in the Daytime schedule demonstrates our commitment to providing
the audience with the very best programming."
Made
in BBC Birmingham and executive produced by Carson Black, the series
returns to BBC ONE in March 2002. With a cast including Christopher
Timothy, Maggie Cronin, Corrine Wicks, Tom Butcher and Ariyon Bakare,
the key storylines this season include alcoholism, a love triangle
and an attempted murder.
An
above the line marketing campaign
with the strapline, "Prepare For Complications" will run
on over 600 poster sites throughout the UK, in over twelve magazines
and sixteen key regional titles.
