David King was formerly BBC Worldwide's Chief Financial Officer, with both responsibility for both Finance & IT. David took on responsibility for the IT division in 2005 having held the position of Finance Director since 1999.
David is also a director of UKTV (a channels joint venture with Virgin Media), 2entertain (a DVD joint venture with Woolworths plc), and a number of other BBC Worldwide joint venture companies and subsidiaries.
Having qualified as a chartered accountant in 1984 David went on to work for a Citibank joint venture before joining Coopers & Lybrand in 1988 as a management consultant working with a number of FTSE 100 companies. He became an FCA in 1994.
Shortly after joining the BBC, David was appointed Head of Corporate Finance. David then joined BBC Worldwide Television as Finance Director and later headed up the International Sales division, as well as being Finance Director, International, until 1999 when he became Finance Director, BBC Worldwide, and was appointed to the Board.
