Tim is the voice behind the football results on Final Score every Saturday afternoon, a job he took over in 1995 after the death of Len Martin, the only other presenter to read out the football scores on Grandstand and Final Score.

Tim started his broadcasting career during national service, for the British Forces Network in Germany. When he returned to Britain he started working for the BBC European Service as a newsreader.

In 1953 he was offered a job on the Home Service where as well as news-reading he presented Out And About - a Saturday afternoon sports magazine that was part of The Light Programme. In 1966 he joined Grandstand, and with Len Martin presented the cricket, rugby, racing and football results.
