Steve is an integral member of the Match Of
The Day team on BBC One, having joined
BBC Sport in 1998.
Steve initially shared his commentary duties
between Radio 5 Live and Match Of The Day,
before moving to TV full time in 2004.
The 2008 European Championship will be
Steve’s fourth; he has also covered three
World Cups, two Africa Cup Of Nations and
the 1996 Olympic Games.
He regards his career highlights as
commentating on two World Cup semi-finals
for BBC TV, and the Champions League and
FA Cup finals for radio.
