Matt joined the BBC in 1997 when he became a member of the Ski Sunday team. Before that he worked in ski resorts and has a very sound knowledge of the circuit.
Matt has worked on Ski Sunday every season since joining, but he has also branched out into other sports. During the Sydney 2000 Olympics, Matt made the move from snow to sand and became the BBC’s main commentator for beach volleyball, a role he reprised in the 2004 Olympics.
But it is on a different kind of court that Matt is more frequently heard because since 2001 he has been an essential member of the BBC’s Wimbledon commentary team. He was also part of the BBC’s team at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, commentating on hockey and the triathlon.
