Former footballer Bright is a sports pundit and BBC London sports presenter.

His 14-year-long football career spanned six clubs, beginning with his hometown club, Port Vale. A spell at Leicester City preceded his signing to Crystal Palace where he made his name as a goal scorer. Bright's goals, along with those of his strike partner Ian Wright, helped take Palace back to glory at the end of the decade.

In 1987-88, Bright earned the Golden Boot for the highest scorer in Division Two with 24 goals. Bright left Palace for Sheffield Wednesday in 1992 and is still the Owls' highest goal scorer in the Premier League to date, scoring 48 league goals between 1992 and 1996.

Later Bright enjoyed a brief spell at Swiss club FC Sion before returning to England, where he finished his career with Charlton Athletic in 1999 after helping them reach the Premier League the previous year.

Since retiring from football, Bright has become BBC London's television sports presenter, BBC Radio 5 Live co-commentator, is a regular pundit on Final Score and has appeared on the BBC's flagship football show, Match Of The Day.

In 2001, he teamed up with former strike partner Ian Wright on BBC Radio 5 Live with the Wright & Bright show.

Bright has reported and commentated on numerous tournaments including: 2002/2006 World Cups; three Africa Cup Of Nations, Tunisia 2004, Egypt 2006 and Ghana 2008; and European Championships in 2000 and 2004.

Bright is a keen golfer and motorbike enthusiast and has completed six half-marathons and four London marathons, raising funds for Cancer Research, the Willow Foundation, the Rhys Daniels Trust and a school in The Gambia.

Most recently, Bright found a place in British football history by scoring the very first goal at the new Wembley Stadium in a charity match for the Geoff Thomas Foundation in March 2007.
