Richard joined BBC Scotland's sports department in October 1991. While his main role is as presenter of Sportsound on Radio Scotland, he has also in the past regularly presented Sportscene for BBC Scotland.

 

In addition, Richard has worked as reporter, presenter and commentator on a variety of TV and Radio programmes covering football, golf, rugby and boxing among others. 

 

He also regularly deputises for Fred MacAulay on his popular entertainment programme on Radio Scotland.

 

Richard had previously worked in Independent Radio at Northsound in Aberdeen, the Glasgow based Radio Clyde and for Sky Sports. 

 

Born Aberdeen 1960. Educated in Aberdeen at Skene Square Primary, Aberdeen Grammar School and Aberdeen College of Commerce.

 

He's married with four children.  Richard's main interests are reading, listening to music, skiing, water skiing, golf, scuba diving, amateur dramatics and travel.
