Penny Macmillan has been presenting the news on Reporting Scotland now for almost ten years.
In 1998, She moved to Glasgow after several years in Carlisle where she was a producer and reporter for Border TV.
In her early years at the BBC, Penny also spent a lot of time reporting and producing for BBC News 24.
Penny started her career in America, training as a TV journalist in Boston and working for various news operations there, including ABC in Boston and Fox in Oakland. Penny then decided to return to the UK to be with her family.
Family still plays a very large part in Penny's life. She is now married with two young children and enjoys living in the countryside.
Penny graduated with honours in International Relations and Modern History from St Andrews University in Fife and from the University of California at Berkeley.
Penny also has a Masters in Broadcast Journalism from Boston University in Massachusetts.
