Craig Williams

Craig Williams has been editor of Newsnight Scotland since April 2001.

 

Born in Edinburgh in 1971, he was educated at the city's Royal High School, studied English Literature at the University of Edinburgh, and trained at the graduate school of journalism at Strathclyde University.

 

Craig worked in local newspapers and radio before first joining BBC Scotland in 1997, as a news producer.

 

He worked on Reporting Scotland, in radio news and as a senior producer on Good Morning Scotland, before leaving to join a national newspaper in July 2000 as media correspondent.

 

Craig returned to take up his present post nine months later.

 

He is married to BBC Scotland's arts correspondent, Pauline McLean, and they have one son.

 

Craig's interests include history, politics (especially US), books, film, theatre and sport.
