Bryan Burnett is one of Scotland's best-known media personalities, mainly due to the many shows he has presented for radio and television over the past two decades.

Get It On With Bryan Burnett is BBC Radio Scotland's daily interactive music programme in which listeners share their passion for music by nominating the best songs and songwriters of all time while Bryan Burnett, with his trademark energy and enthusiasm, discovers the stories behind the choices.

Described by the Herald as "one of the network's most knowledgeable presenters", Bryan also presents the critically acclaimed Brand New Country, a two-hour country and Americana show, which is also broadcast on Radio Scotland.

The Country Music Association in Nashville awarded Bryan the prestigious International Broadcaster of the Year award for 2005 to recognize his outstanding contribution to the field.

Over the years, Bryan considers himself fortunate enough to have been able to interview some of the most interesting performers in the industry.

Brand New Country's guest list has included Emmylou Harris, Shelby Lynne, Brad Paisley, Steve Earle, Kris Kristofferson, Alison Krauss & Union Station and Mary Gaulthier.

Also for Radio Scotland Bryan presented Vic And Bryan's Big Scottish Adventure and Let's Do the Show Right Here.

And he co-presented the station's coverage of Live 8 Scotland, the South By Southwest music festival and Hogmanay 06.

After starting out at Northsound Radio, Bryan went on to spend six years at Radio Clyde in Glasgow.

During his time there he presented a wide variety of programmes including Top 40 chart shows and in-depth music documentaries.

Bryan first reached a wider audience, across almost all of Scotland, when his Radio Clyde programme Soundcheck became the first show to be broadcast on all commercial radio stations in the country.

Having branched out in television early in his broadcasting career, Bryan was for ten years the presenter of Scottish Television's Scottish Passport show.

His other work in television includes Passport Quiz, Party Animals and Country Nights, a live music series which featured country and rock acts from both sides of the Atlantic.

Prior to joining Northsound Radio, Bryan had begun his media career with D C Thomson and Co in their magazine publishing division.

He has retained an interest in printed media ever since, and has written for many newspapers and magazines over the years.
