Bruce Malcolm is the Chief Operating Officer at BBC Scotland.
He took up this post in September 2005.
He has overall responsibility for Finance, Technology, Property and Planning within BBC Scotland.
He was educated in Dumbarton and completed a B.Acc (Hons) at Glasgow University before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse.
He then worked as a business consultant for Moores Rowland in Glasgow before joining the BBC in 1993.
Initially he was responsible for running the finance function for Resources, Scotland before moving on to a position as Commercial Manager.
He then took up a post as Head of Resources, Operations before taking up his current role.
During his time he has played a key role in various re-organisations aimed at improving the overall effectiveness of the operation.
In particular he had responsibility for delivery of BBC Scotland's new headquarters at Pacific Quay.
In-between times he has found time to have two career breaks to travel the world and complete all The Munros in Scotland.
