Eleanor Oldroyd presents 5 Live Sport, from midday on Sundays on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Eleanor was educated at Oxford High School and Cambridge University and started her broadcasting career in commercial radio. She moved to BBC Radio Shropshire as a sports producer in 1986.

In 1988, Eleanor joined BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat programme, moving to BBC Radio Sport in 1991 as a reporter and presenter on the old Radio Five. Since then, she has presented sport and news programmes across 5 Live, first hosting the Sunday afternoon show in 1993.

In 1995 Eleanor became the first - and so far the only - female presenter of Sports Report since it started in 1948 on the former BBC Light Programme.

In addition to hosting her own show, Eleanor is a key part of 5 Live's reporting team and has covered four summer and one winter Olympic Games. She will be part of the radio and TV team in Beijing for the 2008 summer Olympics.

Eleanor has covered a wide range of sports, from judo to ice dancing, and has worked at the Rugby World Cup, Commonwealth Games, and many football and cricket matches.

She was part of the Test Match Special team from 2000 to 2005, and presented 5 Live Sport from the climax of the 2007 Formula One season at Interlagos in Brazil.

Eleanor is a regular on 5 Live's Fighting Talk, and her TV work includes presenting the sports bulletins on BBC Breakfast News, commentating on netball and appearing as a panellist on Call My Bluff.

Eleanor grew up as a football and cricket fan and supports Arsenal.
