Scott Mills

Radio 1 presenter

Scott Mills presents BBC Radio 1's weekday 4.00-7.00pm show.

A Sony winner, Scott claimed Sony Gold in 2006 and was nominated in 2007, 2008 and again in 2009.

He has presented the drivetime show on Radio 1 for five years; before that hosting the early breakfast show after joining the station in 1998.

Scott is one of the key presenters who front Radio 1's annual flagship event, BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend.

Scott's show brings in over six million listeners a week – and the team on his show are Becky, Chappers and The One That Doesn't Speak.

Over the past five years the show's highlights have included Laura's Diary, Flirt Divert, daily quiz Oh! What's Occurring?, and more recently ScottCam.

In 2009 Scott and his team take on a new project – producing Scott Mills The Musical which will be performed for three nights at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Scott's TV credits include the National Lottery (BBC One); The Hoff: When Scott Came To Stay (Living TV); National TV Awards (ITV2); Upstaged (BBC Three).

He has also made cameo appearances in Skins (Channel 4), Hollyoaks (Channel 4), Casualty (BBC One) and The Bill (ITV).

Scott's passion for radio started in his teens. At 16, after deluging his local radio station Power FM with demo tapes, Scott was given the chance to present a week of shows. He was promptly offered a five-hour slot six nights a week, making him the youngest ever radio presenter in the UK.

After a two-year stint at Bristol's GWR FM, Scott was snapped up by Manchester's Key 103. Initially on the late night slot, Scott swiftly shifted to mid-mornings before moving to help launch Heart 106.2 in London and then on to Radio 1.
