Tim Franks is Middle East Correspondent based in the region. His tour of duty began in March 2007.
Between 2002 and 2007, he was Europe Correspondent, based in Brussels, reporting across the continent. He also spent time in Iraq during and after the invasion of 2003.
In the wake of the 9/11 attacks, Tim spent six months as Washington Correspondent. Between 1995 and 2001, he was a political correspondent at Westminster.
Tim has been an occasional presenter of BBC Radio 4's Today programme since 2005. He has also presented Radio 4's The World At One and The World This Weekend.
Tim joined the BBC World Service in 1990, after graduating with a degree in Chinese from Oxford University.
