Before joining BBC Radio 4's Today as a presenter, Sarah Montague presented BBC Breakfast News.


She first joined the BBC in 1997 for the launch of BBC News 24. Since then she has worked on many BBC programmes including presenting Newsnight, BBC News 24 and World's HARDtalk and BBC ONE news bulletins.


Sarah was born in February 1966. Her family come from Guernsey where she was at school, before going to Bristol University to study biology.


Her first job was as a stockbroker in London, but a few years later she became a local reporter for Channel Television in Guernsey. She joined Reuters in 1994 before moving to Sky and from there to the BBC.


She is married with two children.
