Peter Hunt is the BBC's Royal Correspondent.
On behalf of all the broadcasters, he conducted the first television interview with Prince William and the first radio interview with Prince Harry.
He also covers other major news stories both at home and abroad.
Prior to this he was a BBC News Correspondent, with special duties including Deputy Royal Correspondent.
Throughout the duration of the 2003 war in Iraq, Peter reported from Coalition Headquarters in Qatar.
He has also reported from Kuwait, Croatia, Moscow, New York, South Africa and Hong Kong, and has worked extensively in Northern Ireland and across the UK.
As Deputy Royal Correspondent, he covered the death of Her Majesty The Queen Mother, the Jubilee weekend celebrations and the Paul Burrell trial.
He first joined the BBC as a news trainee in 1988, before becoming a national reporter in 1990.
He has presented the PM programme on BBC Radio 4 and has also worked as a presenter on BBC Radio 5 Live.
Born in March 1963, Peter grew up in Essex. He graduated from the University of York in 1985.
