Mihir Bose joined BBC News as the corporation's first Sports Editor in January
2007.
Before joining the BBC, Mihir spent more than ten years at the Daily Telegraph,
where he launched the paper's Inside Sports column.
He has also presented on radio and television, including BBC Radio 4's
Financial World Tonight; South Asia Report on BBC World Service; and What The
Papers Say for Channel 4.
Mihir Bose was born in India before moving to England to pursue higher studies.
He started his journalistic career at London radio station LBC,
before returning to India to retrain as an accountant.
However, after working
as a stringer for the Sunday Times and Spectator, Mihir returned to Britain and
worked as a freelance business journalist.
He eventually joined the Sunday
Times, where he became editor of the Inside Track column.
Mihir has won a number of awards including Business Columnist of the Year,
Sports Story of the Year and Sports News Reporter of the Year.
He is also a well-regarded author, having written 22 books on a range of
subjects, including A History Of Indian Cricket and Manchester Disunited.
