Guto Harri became North American Business
Correspondent, based in New York, in August 2005.
Guto joined BBC News 24 as Chief Political Correspondent
in November 2002. He also presented the channel's weekly interview programme,
One To One.
Guto has been a regular presenter on BBC television
and radio programmes such as The World at One, Westminster Live, Straight
Talk, Despatch Box and The World This Weekend.
He was based in Rome from July 2004 to January 2005.
Guto has also worked on the S4C news programme Newyddion
and on a number of historical documentaries for S4C, as well as presenting
BBC Wales' main election programme.
Guto Harri was born in Cardiff in 1966. He was educated
through the medium of Welsh at Tonyrefail, Bryntaf and Ysgol Gyfun Llanhari.
He then went on to read Politics, Philosophy and Economics
at Queen's College, Oxford, before undertaking a postgraduate course
in Broadcast Journalism at the Centre for Journalism Studies, Cardiff.
Guto joined the BBC in Cardiff, before moving to London
to cover the UK and the world for the Welsh language news service provided
to S4C by the BBC.
He played a key role in covering the collapse of communism
in Romania, Czechoslavakia and East Germany before reporting on the
Gulf War from Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Northern Iraq.
Soon afterwards, Guto became BBC Wales' Political Correspondent.
