Chief Operating Officer,
BBC Future Media & Technology

Kerstin Mogull is the COO of BBC Future Media & Technology (FM&T).

She is responsible for ensuring that FM&T's business operations deliver against the group's overall objectives – embracing internet, interactive TV and mobile services.

In her role, Kerstin also manages FM&T's Business Development Team, which is responsible for ventures with technology partners, and she oversees Legal & Business Affairs and Risk management.

She took up her position in September 2008.

She was previously the BBC's Deputy Director of Policy & Strategy, where she played an instrumental role in driving the BBC's strategy for content across all platforms, including the organisation's six-year plan, Delivering Creative Future.

Prior to this, Kerstin was the Controller for the Strategy Group where she was responsible for some of the corporation's most important initiatives, including the strategy for BBC iPlayer and the overall BBC reorganisation in 2006.

Kerstin continues to play a role in various pan-BBC initiatives, primarily through her leadership of the BBC portfolio of major, long-term, transformational projects.

Kerstin joined the BBC in 2000.

Prior to joining the BBC, Kerstin held senior strategy posts in the airline industry with United Airlines and American Airlines, first in the United States and later in the UK.

She started her career in Sweden in the IT industry with Ericsson.

Kerstin was born in Sweden. She has a degree in economics awarded jointly by the Stockholm School of Economics and HEC in Paris, and she earned an MBA in Chicago where she was a Fulbright Scholar.
