Amanda Davies is a sports presenter on BBC World News and domestically on the BBC News Channel.


Amanda joined the BBC in April 2007 from Sky Sports News where she worked as producer of their special projects team, developing mini-series tackling topical sporting issues. During her time there she undertook a wide range of jobs in the newsroom including sub-editor, assistant news editor, reporter, presenter and on-the-road producer, most notably producing Sky's World Cup Report 7 times daily during the 2006 football World Cup in Germany.


Prior to Sky Sports News Amanda worked for Sky Sports as an assistant producer, and worked on a wide range of live sporting events including the Cricket World Cup and US Open.


Sports journalism is the career that Amanda aimed for throughout school and university. She studied Geography at St Edmund Hall, Oxford, and while there won the "Oxford University Philip Geddes Memorial Prize for Journalism".


Amanda enjoys watching and partaking in sport in her spare time, and confesses a near obsession with Manchester United.
