Aaron Heslehurst has been a BBC business news presenter since February 2002, covering the latest international corporate and financial news.

 

He currently presents on BBC World News as well as domestically on the BBC News Channel and BBC Breakfast, the acclaimed morning programme on BBC One.

Topics Aaron has reported on over the past few years include the global credit crunch and economic slowdown, the financial consequences of the "war on terror", the impact of record-breaking global oil prices and the downfall of world tourism - including the plight of the international airlines.

 

He has also produced in-depth coverage on the crash of the Argentine economy and corporate scandals involving companies such as Enron, WorldCom and Parmalat.

 

Aaron has also interviewed some of the world's biggest corporate leaders and leaders, from the World Bank, the IMF, the European Union and the World Trade Organisation.

As well as business reporting, Aaron presents Flight Track, a weekly round-up of global airline reports for BBC World News’ flagship travel programme fast:track. For Flight Track, Aaron has interviewed the heads of some of the world’s largest and leading airlines including United, British Airways, Emirates and Qantas.

Prior to joining BBC World News, Aaron was a Senior News Anchor with CNBC Nordic, a branch of NBC America.

 

He previously worked as the European Bureau Chief for Paramount Pictures and Real TV News in the US and later in London.

 

While at Paramount, Aaron managed and operated Paramount Pictures’ Real TV European Bureau, which involved producing and directing European stories and events.

A native of Australia, Aaron started his journalistic career as a News Reporter for Prime Television/Seven Network in Sydney and Canberra. There he gained vital experience in all areas of news reporting, including his first significant live on-air and on-set work. He went on to win an Australian National Press Club award for best creative story on tourism.
