Anita Rani presents BBC Asian Network's mid-morning phone-in Anita Rani on the BBC Asian Network every weekday from 9.00am-noon.

Anita will host the station's main forum for discussion and debate, centred on news and current affairs as they affect young Asians in Britain.

Anita joined the BBC Asian Network in March 2005 as presenter of the weekend Breakfast show Hot Breakfast.

Anita grew up in Bradford, and came to broadcasting early, with her own show in commercial radio at the age of 14. She studied Broadcasting at Leeds University, and went on to work as a TV researcher for the BBC and various independent companies.

Anita also co presents BBC TWO's award-winning Asian cultural magazine show Desi DNA, now in its third series.

Anita Rani was awarded Best On Screen Personality at the RTS Midlands awards in 2005, for her journalism and presentation.

She is equally comfortable presenting major pop events and news reports. This summer she reported for Channel Four's The Cricket Show and co-hosted Channel Five's coverage of the MTV Europe Music Awards.
