BBC Worldwide announces sale of 100 hours to Once TV Mexico

BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC, today announced a wide-ranging deal with free to air Mexican broadcaster, Once TV Mexico, for 100 hours of content from BBC Worldwide's extensive catalog. The announcement was made at the 7th annual BBC Showcase Latin America, currently underway in Rio de Janeiro.

As part of the deal, Once TV Mexico acquires a broad selection of series and specials from the Drama, Science, and Children's genres. Notable programs include critically-acclaimed drama, Being Erica, a selection of titles from BBC's flagship science series, Horizon, and Ancient Mega Tsunamis, a one-part special that investigates major tsunamis of the past and the likelihood of such a tragedy reoccurring in the future.

Helen Jurado said, "Latin American audiences continue to show an enthusiasm for BBC programming and we are devoted to providing our clients, such as our valued client, Once TV Mexico, with high-quality, diverse content from BBC Worldwide’s vast catalog."

Fernando Sariñana, Once TV México CEO, said: "This new agreement with BBC Worldwide is fundamental for Once TV México, as it allows us to fulfill our commitment to Mexicans by offering the best available international TV programming."

Held from Sunday August 29th through Tuesday August 31st, BBC Showcase Latin America is the region's only television market hosted by a single distributor. This year marks the event's seventh anniversary.
