BBC Worldwide today announced the sale of almost 50 hours of drama programming to Film & Arts, and a string of new music titles to LAPTV, just weeks after BBC Showcase Latin America 2009.
Pan-regional, Latin American Pay-TV broadcaster, Film & Arts has acquired dramas such as BAFTA-award winning State of Play, the adaptation of Thomas Hardy's Tess of the D'Urbervilles and crime series Inspector Lynley.
BBC Worldwide has licensed titles such as Sounds of the Sixties, Top of the Pops Special and Radio One's Big Weekend to pan-regional broadcaster, LAPTV, in addition to U2 Concert.
Helen Jurado, Regional Sales Director - Latin America, BBC Worldwide, Americas commented, "Our team behind music programming is so incredibly talented and these new deals underline our commitment to bring these great programs to audiences in Latin America. Music programming has proved extremely popular since we launched the genre with Seven Ages of Rock, just over a year ago, and we look forward to further growing this area of our business."
These deals were brokered by Janel Downing, BBC Worldwide's Latin America Sales Executive.
Seven Ages of Rock has now been sold to eight broadcasters across the region.
