BBC Worldwide secures DVD Distribution Deal in Mexico and Central America
BBC Worldwide, international sales agent for 2 entertain Video Limited, has partnered with Mexican DVD distributor En Pantalla, to become the exclusive distributor of its factual titles in a two-year output deal in Mexico and Central America.
The deal will enable En Pantalla to release a minimum of three BBC factual titles per month and ensure that a constant stream of landmark programs are available to consumers in the region until at least spring 2008. Key titles include groundbreaking documentary's such as Planet Earth, Natural Worlds and Galapagos and innovative docudramas Rome, Krakatoa and Hannibal.
In addition En Pantalla have also acquired the rights to distribute a slate of children's and drama titles including: The Secret Show, Charlie & Lola, Extras, Robin Hood, Hotel Babylon and Spot.
En Pantalla has an unrivalled distribution network in Mexico and Central America with strong relationships with the leading retail outlets such as Blockbusters, MixUp, Wal*Mart and Sams as well as a strong base of corporate sales contacts. Both parties hope to establish BBC branded sales points throughout the major retail outlets and rapidly increase the profile of BBC as a Home Entertainment brand in the Central American region.

Distribution of BBC titles will begin in March 2007 and En Pantalla will work with retailers on in-store promotion and marketing campaigns.
