Twinkled-toes toddlers will love to 'move their feet to the beat' as they watch the brand new Boogie Beebies DVD released by BBC Worldwide on 10.07.2006.
Each programmes visits a new place where presenters Nat and Pete takes children through step-by-step dance routines themed around the location.
Every dance begins with a warm up, and ends with a cool down. The children then put together all the moves they've learned and create a dance for the Big Video section.
Through Boogie Beebies, children learn to move confidently and control their bodies, and the programme supports the Early Learning Goal for Physical Development.
The different locations also encourage children to explore their imaginations, and the themed songs and dances help them to see the world around them as a stimulus for play.
Move your Feet to the Beat features the following boogies by Pete:
-
Going to the Park : Pete is in Dulwich Park and explores moves inspired by the children's playground there and teaches a dance called ‘going to the park'.
-
Double Decker: Windsor Castle is the setting and as Pete is on a bus tour of the city, he teaches the ‘Double Decker'.
-
Chuffa Chuffa Chawoowoo: Pete goes on location to the South Devon Steam Railway and there he does the Chuffa Chuffa Chawoowoo, inspired by steam trains.
And the following boogies with Nat:
- Penguin Pop: Nat goes on location to The Living Coast in Paignton, to explore moves inspired by penguins and then teaches kids how to do the ‘Penguin Bop'.
- Do the Duck: Nat's at the Aquadrome in Rickmandsworth learning to move like ducks and other water birds and does the 'Duck'.
- Carousel: Nat goes to the Hollycombe Steam Collection where her dance is inspired by the fairground.
