Doctor Who: The Mind Robber released on DVD

With the new series just around the corner, it's a thrilling time for Doctor Who fans of all ages. To add to this excitement, BBC Video are proud to announce the release on DVD of The Mind Robber, which featured as a Top 10 most-wanted Doctor Who DVD in a Doctor Who Magazine survey.

 

Starring Patrick Troughton as the Doctor, The Mind Robber is available to buy on DVD on07.03.05, priced £19.99.

 

After an accident with the TARDIS, the Doctor, Zoe (Wendy Padbury) and Jamie (Frazer Hines) find themselves transported into a dimension populated with fictional characters. Hunted by life-size clockwork soldiers and ominous White Robots, they encounter a host of characters such as Rapunzel and Swift's Gulliver.

 

They soon discover the realm is ruled by a man known only as the Master, who in turn is controlled by a Master Brain computer. After years of domination, the Master is desperate to escape and wants the Doctor to take his place. With the Master Brain planning to take over the Earth, it is up to the Doctor, Zoe and Jamie to find a way to free the Master and destroy the Master Brain forever...

 

Originally transmitted in September 1968, this five-part story was the second story in Patrick Troughton's third season as the Doctor. The Mind Robber was written by Peter Ling, produced by Peter Bryant and directed by David Maloney.
