BBC Worldwide has struck its first package deal with Italy’s third terrestrial broadcaster, La Sette (La7).
The agreement includes the licensing of the highly-acclaimed, pacy, slick, action-packed series, Hustle, about a group of expert con-artists on the streets of London, starring Adrian Lester (Primary Colors) and Robert Vaughn (Magnificent Seven).
Also included are New Tricks, starring Amanda Redman and Dennis Waterman and Michael Palin’s popular travel series.
The deal is also ground-breaking as it constitutes a major inroad for BBC Worldwide into the market for TV drama series in Italy.
BBC Worldwide EMEIA’s Commercial Director Anita Davison says: "Broadcasters RAI and Mediaset have long been important partners for BBC Worldwide and factual programmes have traditionally been our strongest assets on the Italian market. This agreement therefore constitutes a significant broadening of our role in this important territory."
