Food makes European cable debut
Worldwide's food channel, BBC Food, is now available on cable for
the first time in Europe with its introduction on UPC Sweden. This
agreement follows only three months after the digital satellite
launch of BBC Food in Europe and extends channel availability to
an additional 275,000 subscriber homes in Sweden.
the agreement, BBC Worldwide Head of Channels, Susanne Gallagher,
said, "This is BBC Food's inaugural appearance in the European
cable market and a great indication of the channel's appeal so soon
after its launch. We are very pleased to be providing BBC Food to
UPC, one of Sweden's leading cable networks, and building further

Food showcases the best of food programming from around the world

Ken Hom, will lead September with a series of Asian wok series and
Keith Floyd hosts Floyd's Fjord Fiesta - a culinary journey through
Food is available as part of UPC Sweden's digital offering from
September 1, 2003. BBC Food is also available in Denmark during
September on the Wish Channel of leading cable network, TDC, and
on several other large cable networks.

platform, Canal Digital, to over 700,000 subscribers across Sweden,
Denmark, Norway and Finland. It is also broadcast in Africa and
