BBC World News today announces the start of a new cross-platform advertising campaign by the Cyprus Tourism Organisation, which launches on the channel and will run until the end of the year. The campaign will be broadcast to TV audiences throughout Europe and will also extend to BBC.com, the international version of the BBC’s website.
Developed by BBC World News’ Creative Services team, three 30-second TV spot ads will focus on the different attractions that Cyprus has to offer. Entitled “Wine”, “History and Mythology” and “Outdoors and Sport”, the executions encourage viewers to look beyond Cyprus’s beaches and consider what else the island has to offer.
The spots feature vineyards and winemakers, hospitable islanders hosting leisurely meals, and historical monuments such as the sanctuary of Aphrodite. There are also examples of numerous sporting activities on offer such as mountain biking, golf and kite surfing. The spots end with the tagline, ‘Love Cyprus’.
Lissa Leader, Director of Central, Eastern and Southern Europe, BBC Worldwide, says, “We’re delighted to be working with the Cyprus Tourism Organisation again, and to be broadcasting this cross-platform campaign showing the best that Cyprus has to offer visitors to the island."
