WOMEN IN FOOTBALL - IRAN

Well, in my view, really, the first reason is that after the qualifying matches for the World Cup France 98' women started to show a lot of interest in football. And after France 98, I mean, they simply had football clubs for women, actually, had started already in Iran. And, I think, one of the reasons is that women in Iran, they really like to participate in anything men do in Iran and they want to show that they can do it as well. Also participating in football is one way to show their opposition to those in the regime who are stopping women from improving further.
