The two main unionist parties walked out of the negotiations on their second day, as a first step in what they promise will be a graduated series of protest actions. So are they providing a safety valve for loyalist anger over the Parades Commission's Ardoyne decision? Or are we heading back to the old Anglo Irish agreement era of unionist protest politics?
